A Brief Explanation of Nuzlocke

The Nuzlocke challenge is a set of self-imposed rules on a Pokemon game. There are two main rules:

1.) A fainted Pokemon is treated as dead. When they faint, they must be released ( I will be perma-boxing until my copy of Pokemon White allows Pal-Park to operate) If all Pokemon in the party faint, it's game over.

2.) The first Pokemon in an area is the only one that can be caught. That means If I find a Zigzagoon in the grass, I can catch it if it's the first in the area, but If I kill it, I cannot capture in that area again. I will be counting an entire route as an "area", caves as a single area even If it has more that one floor. You may, however, grind exp in that area for levels. There is no battle cap.

I will also add a couple of my own rules:

a.) No capturing Legendaries. You must kill it.

b.) You must give your Pokemon a nickname you created yourself. This makes it much harder to lose them because of the personal feelings attached to it.

c.) You will not Trade Pokemon with anyone. No real-life people or NPC's.

d.) Only 1 held item ever. When a pokemon gets A held item, It is stuck to them forever. (Unless They have the ability pickup)

e.) You may only save in Pokemarts and PokeCenters.

I will be sticking to these rules, dramatizing my experience, and hopefully gain some nostalgic fun over it, and maybe it will encourage all of you to play once more. I am doing this purely for the sake of fun (okay, maybe a bit of internet popularity ;) too ). E-mail me at pokemonnuzlocke@gmail.com with suggestions.
